She has lectured at numerous prestigious conferences, including the American Heart Association and the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Forum, and has coordinated the small animal cardiology section at the AVMA conference since 2009. Dr. Sleeper has trained 18 veterinary cardiologists and joined the University of Florida veterinary school faculty in 2015. She serves on the editorial or review boards of 11 journals and has contributed to the Great Ape Heart Project since 2011, focusing on improving cardiac health in ape species.
