Assessing Essential Skills of Veterinary Technology

Covering all essential skills from the nine areas required by the American Veterinary Medical Association, this text provides a standardized assessment criteria for veterinary technician educators and students. • The target audience and level will not change. It will continue to be undergraduate veterinary technology students and instructors of accredited veterinary technology programs • Changes in content will be made to reflect the most current essential skills required by the AVMA-CVTEA (they are updated on a biannual basis) as well as updated assessment criteria commiserate with the advancements in the standard of veterinary practice (refer to new veterinary guidelines above) • Provides students with a categorized approach, including the necessary knowledge and decision-making ability required for each skill • Provides the most up to date essential skills required for graduation from an accredited veterinary technology program • The new edition would include at least eight updates to the essential skills list
