Internetové knihkupectví s veterinární tématikou
Uznávaní američtí autoři vytvořili na základě svých zkušeností komplexní dvoudílnou učebnici akutní medicíny malých zvířat. Na více jak 1451 stránkách rozdělili problematiku na prvočinitele do 209 obsáhlých kapitol. V těchto kapitolách autoři shrnuli své zkušenosti a poznatky nejen prvoliniových pracovišť, ale i špičkově vybavených veterinárních pracovišť. Autoři v jednotlivých kapitolách zachovávají logický evidence-basic postup. Od definice, přes incidenci a patogenezi onemocnění, anamnestického a klinického vyšetření k jasná diagnóze, pokračující terapií. Doporučené léky jsou uvedeny v přehledných tabulkách s uvedením názvu účinné látky, její dávkou a komentářem k použití léků. Kapitolu uzavírají doporučení ke zvládnutí popisovaného onemocnění nebo postižení a seznam doporučené literatury. Publikaci jistě přivítají specializovaní odborníci věnující se specializovanému postgraduálnímu vzdělávání, ale stane se jistě přínosným zdrojem informací i pro prvoliniové pracoviště. Její grafické zpracování, velké množství barevných fotografií a algoritmických postupů se stane inspirativním zdrojem pro mnohá pracoviště zachraňující životy psů a koček. Uvedeny jsou přehledně různé protokoly, jejichž cílem je standardizovat veterinární postupy s cílem zefektivnění pracovišť akutní medicíny. Jedna z kapitol je věnována i architektonice pracoviště akutní medicíny, jejímu technickému vybavení. Pro manažery je určitě inspirativní část věnující se řešení konfliktům při zvládání akutních stavů a umění komunikace.
I když v našich zeměpisné šířce asi nebudeme řešit problematiku zranění po inzultaci s dikobrazem nebo škádlení škorpiónů či jiných jedovatých tvorů.
